Warne found not guilty

28/11/2005 - 23:51:26
Australia leg-spinner Shane Warne has been found not guilty of dissent during the third Test with the West Indies in Adelaide.

Warne had been reported by umpires Aleem Dar and Billy Bowden to ICC match referee Mike Procter under Law 1.3 of the ICC Code of Conduct (Level 1 offence).

The incident took place in the 21st over of the West Indies’ second innings when an appeal for a catch off Warne’s bowling was turned down.

Law 1.3 bans players from “showing dissent at an umpire’s decisions by action or verbal abuse.”

However, Warne has been cleared of any wrongdoing following today’s hearing.
