Owen injury setback
27/11/2005 - 13:37:44Newcastle manager Graeme Souness revealed that Michael Owen’s groin injury is still troubling him and was the reason he missed this afternoon’s clash with Everton at Goodison Park.
The England striker had been expected to be part of the Newcastle squad for the Merseyside trip but was ruled out after a training session yesterday.
Souness told Sky Sports: “He tried it (the injury) out yesterday. When he opens his leg out to clip balls he feels it so we can’t take a risk with him.”
