Two boys killed in halting site fire

Two young boys have died following a fire at a halting site in Dublin this afternoon.

Gardaí said the brothers, aged 18-months and three years, were fatally injured when the caravan they were in caught fire.

The incident occurred at Old Castle Park, near the Nangor Road in West Clondalkin shortly after 2pm.

Their bodies have been taken to Tallaght Hospital for a post-mortem and the scene has been preserved for forensic tests.

The older of the two children was due to celebrate his birthday tomorrow.
