Eleven dead after earthquake in China

An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Ritcher Scale has hit China, killing at least 11 people.

Thousand of buildings have reportedly been toppled in Ruichang city, near the border with the Hubei province.

In China, earthquake damage is measured in rooms rather than buildings - a typical rural dwelling has two or three rooms and officials have said that over 8,000 rooms were destroyed in one province.
