PSNI put counterfeiting factory out of business
26/11/2005 - 14:36:41A DVD counterfeiting factory hidden close to the border in South Armagh was put out of business as part of a continuing drive against organised crime today.
Thousands of fake DVDs and a quantity of counterfeit CD’s were seized during the planned search of a private house at Clontigora Hill outside Newry.
The operation was carried out by the Police Service Organised Crime Unit.
About 5,000 DVDs, the CDs and 15 printers and scanners were found during the raid.
DVD titles ranged from Harry Potter to the Dukes of Hazard.
A police spokeswoman said the search was part of an ongoing PSNI drive against organised crime in the border areas of Northern Ireland.
One man was arrested and was later being questioned by detectives.
