Man charged after drugs seizure

A 35-year-old man was tonight charged in connection with the seizure of drugs with a street value of over £50,000 (€73,178) in Belfast.

He has been charged with possession and possession with intent to supply, Class A, Class B and Class C drugs.

The charge came after the seizure of cocaine, cannabis and amphetamines when police carried out a planned search of a house in the Antrim Road area of north Belfast on Friday evening.

A quantity of cash was also recovered.

Another man and a woman arrested in the same operation have been released pending reports to the Public Prosecution Service, said a Police Service spokeswoman.

The accused is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday.
