An off-beat tale in which a Jewish-American collector of family heirlooms goes in search of his late grandfather’s past.
Which leaves us to wonder if he really wants to discover things which might best be left hidden.
Director Schreiber makes a strong debut drama from a novel by Jonathan Safran Foer, layering the film with a mixture of mystery, comedy and tragedy that carries the watcher along quite brilliantly.
