Rix would welcome Brown to Hearts
Hearts first-team coach Graham Rix insists he would welcome the appointment of Craig Brown as director of football at Tynecastle.
The former Scotland boss has been strongly linked with the post after Rix guided the team to a 1-1 draw in his first game at Aberdeen on Sunday.
Majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov is looking for a senior figure to work above former England midfielder Rix.
Former Preston manager Brown refused to comment on the speculation and the Hearts head coach is also waiting to hear who his new boss will be.
Rix told the Scottish Sun: “It is very much Mr Romanov’s department and I’m sure when he’s ready, he will announce the appointment.
“I haven’t heard a thing but I would be delighted if the director of football was to be Craig Brown.
“I have tremendous respect for him and I’m sure we would work extremely well together.”
