Chepstow avoid inspection

23/11/2005 - 07:34:52
This afternoon’s meeting at Chepstow goes ahead after temperatures failed to fall below zero degrees overnight.

Clerk of the course Tim Long felt no need to hold the scheduled precautionary inspection at 7.30am as the threat of frost did not materialise.

“Two degrees was our minimum so racing is on,” said Long. “It’s a misty, damp start to the day and the Met office say that will take a while to clear.

“But other than that, everything is fine.”

The going at Chepstow is currently good to soft for the seven-race card, which is due to start at 12.30pm.
