Marseille covet Cisse
Marseille have set their sights on a January move for Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse.
Club president Pape Diouf believes that the France international would be “the ideal transfer” for the flagging side in the winter break.
The Mediterranean giants sit 11th in the Ligue 1 table after recording just one win in their last four matches, and are looking to boost their attack.
Diouf confirmed the club had approached AC Milan for Filippo Inzaghi, but with the Italian giants refusing to let him go, they have confirmed their interest in Cisse.
The club have already been linked with the former Auxerre forward this season.
Cisse has scored 11 goals in all competitions for the European champions this season and Diouf told L’Equipe: “Cisse would perfectly suit Marseille and he even said it himself that Marseille would also suit him.
“But he keeps playing at Liverpool and he is scoring goals as well.
“However between now and then things can change.”
