Man harassed women by sending underwear, court told
A 30-year-old Dublin man was today charged with harassing two women by sending them ladies' underwear.
Kieran McNulty, from Blackberry Rise in Portmarnock, allegedly sent the underwear to a female neighbour, along with 10 text messages.
He also sent ladies underwear and a letter to another woman.
At Swords District Court, McNulty was told he faced two charges of harassing the women under section 10 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.
Detective Garda Brian Pentory of Malahide Garda Station said the alleged offences had taken place over the period of a month.
“He was contacting a neighbour. There was a lot of messages. Underwear was also sent to another lady and also a letter,” he said.
McNulty told the court he had hired his own private solicitor.
Judge JP McDonnell ordered him to appear in court again on December 21.
Under the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, a person convicted of harassment can be fined up to €1,900 in the District Court or imprisoned for up to 12 months.
