Gunmen spray car with bullets

21/11/2005 - 08:04:45
Gardaí were investigating today after three men escaped injury in a gun attack in north Dublin.

The trio fled from their parked car after it was sprayed with bullets by attackers at around 8pm last night.

The shooting took place at Belcamp Crescent in Darndale on the north side of the city.

The three men, all in their 20s, were sitting in the car at the roadside in Darndale when gunmen fired three shots at the vehicle. A fourth shot was fired as the trio fled the scene on foot.

The attackers escaped in a silver Saab in the direction of Dublin airport. It was found burning near the Cloghran Stud at the rear of the Coachman’s Inn.

Gardaí said it was stolen in Kildare two weeks ago.

It is understood the shooting was not connected to the bloody gang feud in the Crumlin-Drimnagh area which left three men dead last week.
