Deposed champions Shelbourne finished the season with a flourish - but must be content with the InterToto Cup place after Cork City won the league.
Shels dominated the first half but were dreadfully wasteful in front of goal. But the goals flowed on the resumption with two coming inside as many minutes.
Substitute Richie Baker broke the deadlock on 52 minutes when rifling home a Wes Hoolahan cross. Jason Byrne added the second for his 22nd of the season before ex-Gypsy Glen Crowe rapped it up on 64 minutes.
