ISEQ smashes 6800 barrier
18/11/2005 - 11:22:34The ISEQ index of shares broke through the 6800 barrier today, adding 61.08 to stand at 6810.97 by late morning.
Elan continued its dramatic recovery, up 55c to €9.40. The financials also fared well. AIB was up 19c to €17.37, Bank of Ireland was up 14c to €13.04 and Anglo Irish was up 12c to €11.17. Meanwhile, Irish Life & Permanent gained 10c this morning to €15.40.
There were gains also in the construction sector. CRH was up 22c to €22.57, while Grafton gained 6c to stand at €7.98.
Kingspan was up 5c to €10.35, while McInerney added 3c to €9.03.
