Clemence set to return for Birmingham

16/11/2005 - 14:06:37
Birmingham midfielder Stephen Clemence is confident he will be in contention to face Bolton on Monday as he recovers from a calf injury.

The former Tottenham player, who recently signed a new three-year contract at St Andrews, has had his career interrupted by injury and competition for places this season but is confident he can win a first-team spot.

“It has been disappointing to have had the injuries because I’ve been feeling really happy with my form,” he told the Birmingham Mail.

“I started in the team and felt I did well.

“I’m not too far away now, I’m hoping to be in contention for the Bolton game on Monday.”

Another name on the injury list, Mario Melchiot, will play for the reserve side against Leeds tonight as he recovers from a knee injury picked up in the 2-2 draw with Liverpool on September 24.
