New scheme reduces wait for mental health services
16/11/2005 - 13:40:49A pilot scheme in Co Kildare has led to a major reduction in waiting times for children's mental health services, according to the National Council for Development of Nursing.
The scheme sees patients being assessed by a clinical nurse who then refers the child to the appropriate specialist.
The National Council for the Development of Nursing said this had led to waiting times being reduced from a year to less than a month.
