Officers from the Garda National Drugs Unit and Customs discovered a tonne of cannabis resin when they swooped on a van at the Junction of Infirmary Road and Parkgate Street in the city centre.

The two men, aged 25 and 31, were arrested at the scene at 11.30am and are being detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act at Kilmainham Garda Station.
