ISEQ up, Elan rising fast
The ISEQ was up 10.54 points at 10.30am today at 6801.31.
Elan was the biggest gainer, up 42c (5.2%) at €8.50.
Exploration company Aminex was down 1c (2.6%) at €0.38. It announced today that it had got ratification for an onshore Madagascar licence.
Irish Continental was down 13c (1.2%) at €10.34. Irish Ferries, part of the group, rejected a Labour Court recommendation on its outsourcing plan last night.
Jurys Hotel Group gained 20c (1.1%) to €18.60.
Anglo Irish Bank was the morning’s busiest share, and fell 7c to €11.05.
Irish Life and Permanent rose 5c to €15.55, while AIB was down 3c at €17.54.
Bank of Ireland dropped 1c to €12.97. The bank this morning issued a report saying that the cost of renting would rise this year for the first time since 2003.
Eircom was down 1c at €2.28, following news that revenues and group operating profits were up in the half-year to September 30.
Ryanair was unchanged at €7.39. The company today claimed to be the most punctual airline in Europe, quoting statistics from the Association of European Airlines (AEA).
