German police investigate threat to poison Lake Constance
14/11/2005 - 08:00:22Police in southern Germany found several suspect containers in Lake Constance and were investigating a threat to poison the waters, authorities said today.
A letter, received by the agency that manages the lake, which is shared between Germany, ustria and Switzerland, was received on October 18 and threatened to dump pesticides into the water.
Authorities were examining the contents of the containers, found last Wednesday, but emphasised they had determined there was no danger to drinking water from the lake, used by 4.5 million people.
