More gardaí needed to stop drug dealing in hospitals
14/11/2005 - 08:18:06The Labour Party has called for more undercover Gardaí to be stationed in Irish hospitals to crack down on drug dealing.
The call follows newspaper reports that the sale of heroin, cocaine, amphetamines and alcohol is rife in at least three leading Dublin hospitals.
The reports, quoting a group providing treatment to cocaine addicts, said some users were even having their drugs delivered to their hospital beds.
Labour TD Liz McManus said visiting hours should be tightened in an effort to crack down on this dealing.
