Robbie set to rock Croke Park

Multi-Brit award-winning singer Robbie Williams is to play a concert at Dublin’s Croke Park next summer as part of his world tour, it was confirmed today.

The singer, who has sold more than 35 million albums after moving on from the boy band Take That, is to play the venue on Friday, June 9, 2006, as part of his largest world tour to date.

Organisers said tickets for the Dublin show, which will be priced between 56 to 80 euro (£38-54), will go on general sale from 8am on November 25, 2005.

But subscribers to the singer’s website RobbieWilliams.com can buy the tickets online from the site from now until 5pm GMT November, 18.

As part of the 2006 World Tour, the singer will be playing Cape Town in South Africa, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Scotland and England.

Williams is known for his string of hits including Angel, Let Me Entertain You, Life Thru a Lens and Old Before I Die.

The singer’s eighth album, Intensive Care, the first to be penned with his new writing partner Birmingham songwriter Stephen Duffy, a founder-member of Duran Duran, recently made the UK Top 40 album charts.
