ISEQ up as construction stocks make gains
14/11/2005 - 18:09:34Construction stocks ensured the ISEQ index of shares ended the day in positive territory, gaining 4.93 points to close at 6790.77.
Abbey rose 32c to €9.42, McInerney rose 33c to €9.25, Kingspan rose 27c to €10.36, but CRH fell 3c to €21.97..
The financials enjoyed mixed fortunes today. Bank of Ireland rose 14c to €12.99 while AIB rose 1c to €17.63. Irish Life and Permanent fell 11c €15.49 and Anglo Irish Bank was unchanged at €11.18.
Pharmaceutical giant Elan continued its recent positive trend, gaining 23c to close at €8.08. Paddy Power was up 25c to €13.60, while low-cost airline Ryanair rose 14c to €7.39.
