Cargo aircraft crashes into Afghan mountains
11/11/2005 - 09:28:51A cargo aircraft crashed into Afghan mountains today with 10 people on board, said a spokeswoman for Nato-led peacekeeping forces.
“All we know is that there are an unknown number of casualties, but they could be injuries, not deaths,” said Squadron Leader Annie Gibson-Sexton, a spokeswoman for Nato’s International Security Assistance Force.
It was not immediately clear who the aircraft belonged to. Gibson-Sexton said it did not belong to the Nato force.
Gibson-Sexton said Afghan and ISAF rescuers had reached the crash site 18 miles north-west of Kabul.
