Cork earn draw at Shelbourne

Cork went two points clear at the top of the Premier Division table overnight as they held deposed champions Shelbourne scoreless for the third time this season.

Shels' Jason Byrne came close to adding to his 21 goals so far this season with cracking efforts in the second half.

Byrne first fired just off target from Wes Hoolahan’s cross on 51 minutes before bringing a superb save out of Michael Devine.

Roy O’Donovan had Cork ‘s best chance on 81 minutes but was thwarted by Shels keeper Dean Delaney.
