The New World is filled with power and magnitude

11/11/2005 - 14:18:03
The New World

Director: Terrence Malick

Cast: Colin Farrell, Christian Bale, Irene Bedard, Ben Chaplin

Malick, who also wrote the screenplay, here tells the story of the 17th century meeting of the English, under John Smith (Farrell) with the Native Americans of the New World.

As with all Malick films the screen is filled with beautiful shots and the storyline is one of constant and adult maturity.

Farrell is excellent as Smith in a film of some power and magnitude.

Star Rating: 4/5
