Cheltenham dries out but rain forecast

10/11/2005 - 17:07:16
Conditions at Cheltenham have improved following dry weather ahead of the three-day Open meeting.

The going is officially described as good to soft on the hurdle and chase courses, and good, good to soft in places on the cross-country track, although some rain is forecast.

“If this blowy weather continues it could dry out a bit more, but then we are expecting a couple of millimetres of rain tonight and four or five tomorrow afternoon on the opening day of the meeting,” said clerk of the course Simon Claisse.

“Saturday and Sunday are forecast to be brighter but cooler.”
