Quiet start for ISEQ

The Dublin stock exchange had a quiet start to the day with a mere three-points rise by 11am.

The ISEQ stood at 6,723.88, an increase of 3.33 points.

The construction sector saw some mixed moves with both Abbey and Kingspan falling 10c to €9.10 and 17c to €10 respectively. Rivals Grafton climbed 14c to €8.65.

The biggest riser of the day so far was manufacturing group Unidare, up 15c to €3.

The financials were also mixed with Irish Life and Permanent tumbling eight cents to €15.42. Increases came at Anglo Irish Bank, up three cents to €11.42, and Bank of Ireland, up five cents to €12.84. AIB was steady at €17.30.

Elsewhere, Elan, Irish Continental and Paddy Power all saw their stock price go down 10c to €7.30, €10.50 and €13.40 respectively. Food Group IAWS had a 10c rise to €11.90.
