Rescue underway as yachts capsize during Atlantic race
08/11/2005 - 10:47:20An international rescue operation is underway in the Atlantic Ocean west of France today after three yachts got into difficulty during Transat Jacques Vabre race.
Two of the yachts capsized during ferocious sailing conditions west of the Bay of Biscay, while the third lost its masts.
Rescue helicopters from England, Scotland and France have been sent to help the stricken vessels along with a French warship and several merchant and fishing vessels.
