Gardaí report 15% increase in drink-driving arrests
08/11/2005 - 13:37:52Gardaí have reported a 15% increase in the number of people arrested for drink-driving so far this year compared with the same period last year.
The Gardaí said 9,050 people were arrested on suspicion of driving while drunk between January and October.
It said the highest number of arrests were being carried out in the early hours of the morning, when the highest proportion of fatal road accidents also take place.
