Cabinet to approve Dublin Archdiocese inquiry today
08/11/2005 - 08:29:04The Cabinet is expected to give its approval today for a state inquiry into the handling of clerical sex abuse claims in the Dublin Archdiocese.
The terms of reference for the investigation are expected to be made public after the matter is discussed by ministers this morning.
The inquiry, which will look into allegations dating back more than 30 years, will focus on the Dublin area, but is also expected to include an examination of every other diocese in the country.
If major concerns are raised in any of these dioceses, they could be subject to a more strenuous investigation.
