Positive start for ISEQ
08/11/2005 - 13:35:51Morning trading was brisk in Dublin as the construction and financial sector both performed well.
The ISEQ was up 32.91 points to 6,735.08 by 1pm.
In the building sector, CRH lead the way with a 20c rise to €22.15. Close behind were house builder Abbey on a 15c rise to €9.15 while Grafton increased by 14c to €8.58.
The financials refelcted the positive mood with Anglo Irish Bank recording a 17c increase to €11.32. Irish Life and permanent climbed 10c to €15.35 and AIB went up six cents to €17.32. The only blip was Bank of Ireland which had a seven cent fall to €12.88.
The biggest riser of the day so far was business support services group DCC with a 29c increase to €16.24.
Shipping group Irish Continental, climbed 20c to €10.60 while Ryanair flew up 14c to €6.90.
