Solicitors’ firms asked to attend complaints hearings
03/11/2005 - 10:42:50A total of 46 solicitors' firms have reportedly been asked to attend meetings of a Law Society committee investigating complaints relating to child abuse cases.
The committee was established to investigation allegations that some solicitors were over-charging abuse victims seeking compensation from the Residential Institutions Redress Board.
Reports this morning said the Law Society believed many of the complaints related to legitimate charges, but at least some solicitors would face disciplinary action in relation to advertisements seeking abuse victims as clients.
