Search resumes for men feared drowned off Co Clare
03/11/2005 - 08:12:58The Gardaí and Coastguard have resumed their search for the bodies of two men feared drowned off the coast of Co Clare.
Gardaí revealed yesterday that they feared a total of three men were inside a vehicle that appeared to have driven over a cliff near Doolin in the early hours of Monday morning.
The remains of an Ennis man in his 20s were taken from the sea in the area on Tuesday after surfers reported seeing a body floating in the water.
Gardaí believe he was one of three men who were drinking together in Doolin on Sunday before buying alcohol to take away.
The other two men are still missing and detectives are working on the assumption that they may have travelled to the cliff top and accidentally driven over the edge.
