North: Pizza van and taxi hijacked
03/11/2005 - 11:25:45Police have appealed for help after a taxi and a pizza delivery van were hijacked.
The first incident occurred at about 8.20pm last night in Strabane, Co Tyrone.
A taxi driver went to Springhill Park to pick up a fare when he was confronted by five men, four of whom were masked.
Three of the hijackers took his car while their accomplices left on foot.
The registration of the silver Vauxhall Vectra was S881 TNP.
Half an hour later a pizza delivery van arrived with an order at an address in Mount Sion.
The driver was confronted by three men who hijacked it.
The stolen van was a white Ford Connect with the registration number OUI 5165.
Detectives in Strabane have appealed to anyone with information about the hijackings to contact them.
