Glitterball Madonna opens MTV Awards

The Queen of Pop took to the stage in a leotard to perform new single Hung Up.
The 47-year-old showed off a figure someone half her age would envy.
The singer was not nominated for any awards but was determined to steal the limelight from the other acts.
Opening the star-studded show in Lisbon, she emerged from a giant glitterball on the stage before peeling off her leather jacket to reveal her disco-inspired outfit.
She appeared at the event to promote her new album, Confession On A Dancefloor.
The awards are being broadcast live on MTV to a potential audience of one billion people.
