Diva creates history in Melbourne
01/11/2005 - 07:54:34Makybe Diva became the first horse ever to win the Emirates Melbourne Cup three times with a fantastic display at Flemington.
The seven-year-old mare, who has now won the race for a third consecutive year, came with a stirring run down the middle of the track to emphatically justify favouritism in the two-mile feature in Australia.
On A Jeune stayed on gamely to take second place while Xcellent claimed third spot.
