Cargo plane crashes in northern Italy

A cargo plane under contract with mail courier DHL crashed in northern Italy, killing all three crew members who were believed to be Croatian, authorities said today.

The LET 410 aircraft, a Tradeair cargo plane registered in Croatia and bound for Zagreb, crashed soon after takeoff at about 10.05pm local time yesterday near Bergamo’s airport, said a statement from Italy’s national agency for flight security ANSV.

All three people on board were killed, said an official at Bergamo’s provincial fire department.
