Jason Byrne scored a hat-trick to bring his tally for the season to 21.

But Shelbourne's title hopes are surely gone now after Cork and Derry both won to keep their six-point lead intact.

Byrne opened the scoring on 36 minutes from a penalty, with the game up for Bray in first-half stoppage time following the sending off of Stephen Gifford for a bad challenge on Bobby Ryan.

Byrne set up Dave Rogers for Shels' second on 66 minutes to end the game as a contest.

The flood gates then opened as Shels scored three times in as many minutes.

Byrne completed his hat-trick with a barce in quick succession from the 76th minute with Glen Crowe tapping in the fifth.
