Owen back for Newcastle
Michael Owen returned to the Newcastle line-up after a hamstring strain in place of Alan Shearer for the Premiership clash at West Brom.
Owen would happily settle for a repeat of his last performance at The Hawthorns when he scored four goals for Liverpool in a 6-0 win in April 2003.
Shearer, who scored the winner at Grimsby in the Carling cup in midweek, is troubled by a hernia problem and may have an operation during the next international break.
Albon made two changes from the side which had gained a confidence-boosting victory over Fulham in the Carling Cup in mid-week.
Defender Paul Robinson, who was beginning a three-match suspension, and Diomansy Kamara, given permission to fly home to Senegal after his wife gave birth yesterday, were replaced by Steve Watson and Jonathan Greening.
West Brom: Kuszczak, Scimeca, Curtis Davies, Moore, Clement, Greening, Watson, Inamoto, Carter, Kanu, Earnshaw. Subs: Hoult, Gaardsoe, Horsfield, Chaplow, Ellington.
Newcastle: Given, Ramage, Boumsong, Taylor, Babayaro, Solano, Parker, Emre, N’Zogbia, Owen, Ameobi. Subs: Dyer, Shearer, Harper Faye, Bramble.
