Ireland have missed out on next Saturday's European Nations Cup Final in France.
The Wolfhounds have fallen 31-10 to Wales at Terenure, with Michael Platt and Francis Cummins scoring second-half tries for Ireland.
Ian Brears top-scored for the Welsh with a try, drop-goal, three conversions and a penalty.
