Copsale Lad makes victory a fun affair
29/10/2005 - 15:32:39Copsale Lad jumped for fun to land an easy win in the Greatwood Rescue And Rehabilitation Beginners' Chase at Lingfield today.
As Nick Henderson’s gelding warmed up, he dazzled with a bold display under Mark Foley.
The 100-30 shot soon had the measure of favourite Bob Bob Bobbin and went clear in the straight to win by 13 lengths from Buck Nine, with Zabenz third, another three and a half lengths away.
Henderson said: “He was really enjoying himself out there and I can hardly wait to find out if he will get three miles on good ground. He deserved that and his jumping had them all on the stretch. It has pleased me no end.”
Tom Doyle, who had a bad fall from Salt Cellar, was reported as having had “a few kicks and bangs but otherwise OK” by trainer Paul Webber.
