Families of victims of Navan bus crash say 'Thank you'

29/10/2005 - 09:50:43
The families of the five school-girls who were killed when their bus overturned last May have publicly thanked all those who supported them.

The five girls who were aged between 15 and 18 died as a result of the accident in Kentstown, near Navan.

Another 46 schoolchildren were injured in the crash.

Vincent Callen, who lost his daughter Lisa, has paid tribute to the community, parish organisations and hospital staff involved in treating the victims.

The publication of a report into what caused the accident has been deferred at the request of the DPP, amid concerns that the outcome of the independent probe would prejudice any possible future prosecution.
