Cork City's Richardson: I want to keep my stars

28/10/2005 - 13:35:44
Cork City manager Damien Richardson has insisted that he wants to keep his five out-of-contract stars at the club.

Greg O’Halloran, Neal Horgan, John O’Flynn, Colin O’Brien and Liam Kearney are all out of contract at the end of the season and speculation suggests that at least two of them could leave at the end of the season.

All are currently in talks with the Cork City board. O’Halloran has been linked with a move to Shelbourne while O’Flynn could return to England where he was on the books of Peterborough United.

Richardson said: “It is no suprirse to me to hear that people are interested in my players. That is part and parcel of being in a successful side.

“But I cannot see any player wanting to leave Cork City unless they get a very good offer. I have been in discussions with the five players but because we have a heavy schedule things have dragged on a bit.”
