Cork City hope to keep noses in front

28/10/2005 - 09:51:48
Cork City will be hoping to keep their noses in front of Derry City when they face relegation-threatened St Patrick’s Athletic at Turner’s Cross.

Cork are just ahead of Derry City in the title race on goal difference and will be hoping for the victory to stay in front though they have serious doubts over first choice strike pair Neale Fenn and John O'Flynn.

Fenn was a late substitute against Derry in last week’s FAI Cup semi-final and it is hoped that he is okay to start this week while O’Flynn is still struggling with a groin problem.

While Cork and Derry battle it out at the top of the table, St Patrick’s Athletic are in danger of relegation. They are just one point above Waterford United.

Manager Johnny McDonnell will welcome back goalkeeper Barry Ryan from flu for the clash.
