Govt introduces new measure to protect children from abuse
28/10/2005 - 16:16:14The Government today announced a series of measures it’s to take following the publication of the Ferns Inquiry report.
Children's Minister Brian Lenihan has written to Catholic Bishops seeking assurances that its recommendations will be implemented in every diocese.
The Health Service Executive is to monitor the child protection practices being put in place.
A new criminal charge of Wreckless Endangerment of Children is also to be brought in.
