Russia's Aeroflot to buy five Airbus-320 jets
27/10/2005 - 11:14:42National flag carrier Aeroflot said it had sealed a deal to acquire five Airbus-320 passenger aircraft, the Interfax agency reported today.
The announcement comes days after Airbus announced that it had struck a deal to deliver seven A321 medium-haul planes to Aeroflot for delivery next year.
The Aeroflot board had approved the purchase of the five A320s under a leasing agreement yesterday evening, Interfax quoted Alexander Kanishchev, route director at the company as saying.
“By spring we are counting on adding 12 Airbus planes to our fleet,” he said. “we hope that the expansion of the fleet will go further than this.”
