ISEQ down 62 points in early trading
There were losses across the board this morning as the ISEQ slumped 62.17 to 6486.89 in early trading today.
Elan was down 1c to €6.90 as it reported a loss of over $67m (€55.3m) for the first nine months of 2005.
This is a decrease of 35% on the $187m (€154.2m) loss for the same period last year.
All of the financials were down. Bank of Ireland was worst hit, shedding 18c to €12.63. Anglo Irish was down 17c to €10.90, while Irish Life & Permanent lost 12c to stand at €14.23. AIB was also in the red, down 10c to €17.02.
It was a bad morning too for construction stocks. CRH plummeted 27c to €20.63, while Kingspan was down 15c to €9.70.
Low cost carrier Ryanair was down 13c to €6.82, despite its announcement that it will carry a record 200,000 passengers on its 60 Irish routes this Bank Holiday weekend.
