Woman found on Dublin street died of head injuries
26/10/2005 - 09:43:40Post mortem results on a woman’s body that was discovered in Dublin city centre yesterday revealed that she died of head injuries.
Gardaí have launched a full murder inquiry and say the victim has not yet been identified, but that she was in her 50s.
Gardaí also believe that she may have been killed elsewhere and her body dumped from a vehicle on Mercer Street, near St Stephen’s Green.
Her body was found wrapped in a bed sheet with a rope looped around it shortly after 4am yesterday.
She is described as being five foot seven inches in height, of a heavy build with long, black hair, turning grey.
Gardaí at Harcourt Terrace Garda Station are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.
