Businesses urged to cancel Christmas cards and help the homeless
25/10/2005 - 18:49:48The Simon Community has launched an appeal to Irish businesses to help the homeless this Christmas.
The charity said that by making a donation instead of sending corporate Christmas cards, businesses could bring about a real difference in the wellbeing of Ireland's homeless community.
Over €2.5m has been raised through the scheme over the past six years.
The money is used to provide food and shelter to those sleeping rough on the country's streets.
