Fireworks seized in police raids
22/10/2005 - 10:33:55Gardaí have seized thousands of euro worth of fireworks, cigarettes and pirate DVDS in raids on two houses in Co Meath, a spokesman said today.
Fireworks with an estimated street value of €50,000 were found in the searches, along with €30,000 worth of counterfeit DVDs.
The garda spokesman said the value of the seized cigarettes had not been calculated but was thought to be substantial.
The raids on the houses in Bellewstown, Co Meath, were conducted by the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, assisted by local gardaí.
